Education

Our eight counties are home to a number of public and private school districts, as well as five community colleges and one technical institute.  We have almost 40,000 students in over 90 schools across 24 public school districts … and we have 13 private schools with a total enrollment of almost 1,600 students.

In the Crossroads region, you’ll find KIPP Delta Public Schools and Cross County School District – both of which are progressive systems featuring award-winning charter schools.  In fact, Cross County is the only school district in Arkansas to give every student in K-12 a laptop computer.

The community colleges in our region represent a more affordable and specialized education for fostering a highly trained and skilled workforce, as well as the convenience of online learning options.  At the same time, the close relationship that exists between the Crossroads Coalition and nearby colleges creates an ability to quickly develop programs for new industries.

In addition, our position in the middle of the triangle formed by the three metro areas of Jonesboro, Little Rock, and Memphis gives our region easy access to the finest programs at places like Arkansas State University, the University of Memphis, and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
